2. Count Odo
Count Odo of Paris is seen in Seasons 3 and 4 where he helps protect Paris from the Viking attack led by Ragnar Lothbrok. He is very ambitious, but in the show he is killed off before he gains any more power.
In real life, Count Odo did defend Paris against a Viking siege in 885-886 AD, though it was not led by Ragnar. Afterwards he became king due to his bravery during the siege.
