In "Chupacabra" also known as "Daryl's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" the search for young Sophia continues. Almost everybody pitches in, heading out into the forest in pairs to cover as much ground as possible. Daryl, however, takes off on his own. Despite the fact that he is by far the most competent of the survivors, things do not exactly go as planned for everybody's favorite redneck. Stranded and injured, Daryl goes native as he fights for his life alone in the Georgia wilderness. Unlike other entries on this list, "Chupacabra" doesn't really have any lasting significance for the series. Nothing happens to rock the foundation of the show, and unless a spontaneous outburst of hatred for Andrea qualifies nothing really changes for any of the characters. Still, this episode was always going to be on the list. Why? It's just fun. There are some seriously awesome zombie kills. There's action. There are character beats. Norman Reedus gets his chance to demonstrate why he earned his bump up to regular cast member after his guest star status of Season 1. It may not be the most pivotal episode of The Walking Dead, but "Chupacabra" is definitely one of the most re-watchable.
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
