7. Michonne Saves Andrea ("Beside The Dying Fire")

By the end of the Season two finale, Andrea is not in a particularly good place. Separated from the rest of the group as they all tried to escape Hershel's swarmed farm, she fled into the forest where she has no choice but to run for hours, toting the duffel bag of dwindling ammunition and firing at Walkers that get too close. Finally, after running through the entire night, she collapses in exhaustion. A Walker bends down over her and is on the verge of ripping out her throat when its head is very suddenly split in two. Andrea sits up and sees a hooded figure wielding a katana and leading two armless and jawless Walkers behind her on chains. Andrea's savior flicks blood off of the end of her sword and approaches.
Why It's Great: This was a fantastic character entrance. To the unspoiled (including myself), she was a vaguely sinister sword-wielding woman with two disarmed and de-jawed pet Walkers on leashes. We couldn't even see her face. While she was undoubtedly hooded so completely because Danai Gurira had not yet been cast, her concealed face added to her mystique. Despite the fact that she had just saved Andrea, it was difficult to gauge whether or not she would turn out to be one of the good guys. Also, killing a zombie with a sword was pretty cool. So there's that.
