Arguably the first noteworthy member of the group to be bitten and reanimate, Andrea's sister Amy gave us our first look into the direct tragedy we should come to expect over the next few seasons. Bitten in a walker attack on the camp, Amy dies in her sister's arms, but Andrea refuses to leave her until she turns, at which point she apologises for not spending enough time with her, and shoots her in the head. The scene is a key moment in representing the values of the group, as at that time they still have room for sentiment, allowing Andrea to wait for Amy to reanimate, instead of immediately removing future danger and burying her. The fact that the Walker-Amy is weakly pawing at the back of Andrea's head only serves as an unnerving foreshadowing of what's to come.
16. The Governor's Heads
If anyone had any doubts about whether we could trust the Governor or not, the appearance of his victims in the third episode of the third season answered those doubts fairly abruptly. The Governor liked to keep an aquarium of bodily-liberated biter-heads in a locked room in his house, which is creepy enough as it is, but then add that these heads are still attempting to chow down and it becomes a whole lot weirder. During the Governor's confrontation with Michonne, he attempts to force her head into one of the tanks, and we're treated to the chomping sound of savage jaws on immobile heads - utterly nightmarish.
