5. He Stirs Rick Into Action
Although the events of Internment brought out the inner warrior in Rick once more during the 'father and son zombie massacre bonding experience,' there is no doubt that The Governor's return will bring him further out of his gardening sabbatical. While it's good to see different aspects of characters, they seem to have come to an end of the pacifist Rick arc and rightly so. Rick was a wartime leaderif the Governor's got anything to do with, war's coming along again. One of the most important dynamics last season was the relationship between these two leaders and how they were warped mirror images of each other. Meeting with The Governor and sending him on his way convinced Rick to end his dictatorship and give democracy a chance. Sometimes though, there are hard calls to be made and only Rick can make them as proved by his treatment of Carol in last week's Indifference. Maggie said it best in this week's episode, stating that he made the right decision and didn't know if she'd have been strong enough to make it in his place. It's shaping up to be another war of ideologies and I'm really looking forward to Rick stepping up to the reins again, leading the group through the inevitable turbulent future.
