The Walking Dead: 6 Things "Crossed" Got Right (And 4 It Didn't)

3. Dawn Still Makes No Sense

Just when it looked like the cannibalistic Terminus brigade were set to be this season's big bad, Slabtown revealed a very different, complex breed of villain occupying the power vacuum left over from David Morrissey's Governor. At least, that's clearly what Dawn is intended to be, but so far she's been far more of a damp squib than anything approaching a genuine threat. Or a credible one. Or a believable one. Or one that audiences can even get their heads around, since her motivations and personality are such a jumbled mess that it's impossible to figure out what exactly her position is, and that smacks of bad writing. Think about it in the most basic terms: a good character wants something. All of their actions are motivated by that one, core desire. What is it that Dawn wants? Who knows? Apparently some semblance of order amongst chaos, but the way she goes about that defies logic. She has all of the population of the hospital under her control, except when she doesn't, and she flip-flops between being feared and fearing everyone else. She either wants to keep order or totally destroy is by colluding with Beth. What's her deal? Why is she doing the things that she does? And is the hospital going to collapse on its own, without the need for Rick to come in all guns blazing?
