The Walking Dead Season 4: 10 Reasons To Be Concerned

1. Feasting On The Graphic Novels

Tyreese Speaking of relationships, the advent of a new showrunner will certainly bring a new relationship between the show and its source text. Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, has been on board since the beginning, but the series and the graphic novels have diverged considerably at many points. Gimple, however, may have an interest in taking the show back to its roots. Alongside Tyreese and Michonne, many of the original characters from the series could start showing up. Many fans of the graphic novels might rejoice at first, but Gimple is taking on some risks with these characters. He€™s started a balancing act that€™s going to be difficult to continue. Gimple has to satisfy opposing desires from fans of the both the graphic novels and the television series. He has to be true to the characters while simultaneously producing original and compelling content. He€™s got to re-animate these characters, breathing life into them so that they aren't stumbling around like empty shells of their novel counterparts. These are the points that I've been brooding over as the season gets under way. Some of these concerns will dissolve as the season progresses; other concerns may turn into complaints. Either way, I'm going to continue watching the series. At the top of this article, I suggested the show was at risk of becoming the walking dead, but the series has been renewed for a fifth season and the fan-base continues to grow. So if the show is walking dead, then it certainly has enough viewers walking right alongside it.
