12. What's With Terminus?

There were some suggestions that terminus was going to turn out to be Atlanta (thanks to the end of the lines historical reference point) but even knowing that that is not the case, the revelation of the self-styled sanctuary does not answer as many questions as fans might have expected. The chief issues are why there is no apparent security, when the threat of walkers is ever-present, and why it doesn't appear that there are many people around. Some have pointed to Mary's odd robotic demeanour as a sign she's evil, and the idea of her alone there would have been jarring, but we already know that there are others as Kirkman has stated, and as confirmed by the casting of Andrew West as a Terminus resident called Gareth. It's likely we're going to find out the truth of Terminus very soon: are they hunters, or cannibals, or maybe even a version of Negan's mafiosa? Inevitably, all of the survivors are about to discover that the place is not what it immediately seemed. Whether she's a robot or not, there's a bigger, more pressing question here...
