The Walking Dead Season 4: Ranking The First 8 Episodes

8. Isolation (Episode 3)

1 There are by no means any particularly bad episodes in Season 4, in my opinion. I'm sure some would feel differently about how certain prominent members of the cast are or are not in other episodes which would change their opinion. This episode is fine, and certainly nothing worthy of complaint. The simple fact of the matter is that this is just one of the least memorable episodes. The mystery that begun at the end of episode 2 trudges along here, only being resolved with the very last words of the episode. The supply run and the infection is only brought up/continued on to be finally resolved in episodes 4 and 5, respectively. Apart from a pretty interesting walker design pictured above, there are two pretty stand-out moments throughout this episode that I could still remember without reminding myself that they existed, and that's Hershel's speech, wherein he highlights of even breathing in this zombie-infested world, and a scene between Bob Stookey and Tyreese, wherein Tyreese €“ who is worn from the fight at the beginning of the episode €“ insists on digging the graves for Karen and David, and won't stop until the job is done (reminiscent of Jim from Season 1. Remember him?). Realising that he can't stop him, Bob Stookey lightens his self-placed burden and picks up a shovel to help him out in a brilliant show of teamwork that I ran back to after the incident with the bottle of liquor in Bob's bag in the subsequent episode. Besides, the show was overshadowed by the after-show, Talking Dead, which had that night's guest Marilyn Manson saying some pretty bizarre stuff. Props to Chris Hardwick for staying strong and showing his true hosting abilities there. What can I say? It's not bad, it's just the least memorable.
