The Walking Dead Season 4: Ranking The First 8 Episodes

1. Too Far Gone (Episode 8)

15 I'd like to start off by saying that this episode heart me. Right here (I'm pointing to my heart right now). My favourite character in this whole show is and always kinda was Hershel. While Googling during this episode (a foolish mistake, I know), I found that the "surprise cast member" on Talking Bad would be Scott Wilson, which scared the crap out of me. The second half of a Tweet I sent out after hearing this was as follows: "I swear to sh*t, that guy better not die tonight!!!!" That's right, I used the S-word and I filled up the character limit with exclamation marks. I was desperate. Nevertheless, I marched onward and, you know what? This was a expertly done death. Yeah, they basically did what happened to Tyreese in the comics, but this was much, much more dignified, and I damn near shed a tear at the sight of his demise. Well, his first demise. Hacking off his head might've been overkill there, Governor. We've also seen Rick and Carl come along so far this season, with episode one's farmer buddies to episode five's shoot-out partners to this The sight of Judith's bloody baby carrier, and leaning on each other equally for support in the midst of this riot. Staying ever strong, they pull themselves away from the carrier and the prison, Rick spouting "Don't look back. Don't look back" repeatedly. And don't tell me Judith might be alive, because that's the ultimate cop-out right there. You leave us with the image of a bloodied baby carrier, holding so much worth and symbolism just to slap us in the face by revealing the kids or somebody rescued her? Nope. Not buying it. It really will be exciting to see how this series continues now that the Governor's reign of tyranny was brought to an end by the cobined forces of Rick, Michonne and Lilly Chambers (any fan of the novel will understand that I'm not calling her Chambler). Obviously, in the next eight episodes (which airs February 9th-March 30th), the trio of Abraham Ford, Rosita Espinosa and Eugene Porter will make their introductions, but aside from that, what can happen? This is The Walking Dead after all, so... pretty much anything. And to anyone who wants Daryl in the comics, no need, he pretty much starred in his own Looney Tunes short right here in this episode. He uses a zombie as cover via holding it on a spike, then throwing a grenade down the barrel of a tank (akin to putting your cartoon finger in a shotgun trigger), and Mitch jumps out of the top before it explodes (I pictured Tom's patented yell when I saw this image). Finally, as the Looney Tunes outro music begins to play in my head, and Mitch looks on glumly at the demise of his tank, Daryl fires his crossbow, killing him. That's All, Folks! Oh, and the Governor finally said "kill them all!" Did I miss anything? Would you rate these episodes any differently? Answers below and thanks for reading!
