The Walking Dead Season 5: 10 Things We Learned From The New Trailer

4. The Refugees Split Up Again

Or maybe Carol goes off on an adventure with Daryl and tries to reforge their friendship by becoming even dirtier than he is. Alright, that's probably not why, but it does look like Daryl and Carol will be taking a side trip of their own. There's a flash of the two alone, heavily armed and alert, and a handy voiceover clues us in as Rick tells a restless Abraham that they will not be moving on without their "people." While Rick has proven himself remarkably loyal to group members who do not sleep with his wife and/or murder innocent people in their beds, best bro Daryl is one in particular whom Rick would be adamant about recovering. Coupled with their conspicuous absences from several group shots, Daryl and Carol emerge as the most likely parties to split off from the others for a while.
The question then arises of why Daryl and Carol would break from the group after finally reuniting. The most likely answer? Beth. In a split-second shot, we see a parked fleet of vehicles marked with crosses that just so happen to match that on the car that took Beth.
If the group stumbles upon one of these cars, Daryl might just have the evidence that he needs to head out on part deux of Operation: Beth. While Maggie would be the most obvious candidate to join him on such a quest, Carol is the only one left without any family ties to hold her back and who happens to have a deep bond with Daryl.
