The Walking Dead Season 5: 10 Things That Need To Happen
10. A New Big Bad
Hopefully saying that the show really kicked up a notch with the introduction of The Governor wasn't an understatement. David Morrissey's addition to the main cast with season three was not only a boost to the average quality of the acting on the show (which is otherwise, well, sufficient). The noted British thespian's eyepatch-clad antagonist gave the show a real sense of threat it had been missing since it turned out the walkers themselves weren't the main things the characters were supposed be worrying about it was each other. Or, y'know, other people. The sort of people who keep the heads of dead things in jars and generally act like maniacal tyrants, for instance. The Governor's a tough act to beat, but it looks like he won't be turning up again any time soon. So that means there needs to be a new big bad that can not only fill his not insignificant shoes but possibly up the ante even more. We know that Rick and the crew can (just about) deal with his level of insanity, what happens after that? Well, if you go buy the comic books The Walking Dead is based on - spoilers for the comic books, FYI - then the residents of Terminus are more than up to the challenge. Let's just say that the idyllic, safe community they've built is perhaps not as rosy as it looked on first glance. Basically, imagine if everybody in the prison was The Governor? That might be the sort of things audiences can expect from season five.
