The Walking Dead Season 5: 10 Things That Need To Happen

9. And New Nice Characters

That said, it'd be nice if somebody got introduced who wasn't a total psychopath out for blood in a world where law, order and the conventions of society have totally collapsed. Running around acting like a bit of a tit because the apocalypse has come and nobody can stop you is understandable to a degree, but you'd like to think some people retain some of their former kindness. Human beings are basically good, right? As the outlook of the show gets increasingly bleak with each season, you can't help but think it'd be nice to bring a little sunshine back to proceedings. In the same way that AMC's previous monster hit, Breaking Bad, managed to temper some of the more extreme actions of Walter White with the addition of broader comic reliefs like Saul Goodman, The Walking Dead could stand to introduce some nice new characters in amongst the probable lunatics that will be making up most of the new ensemble. Not anybody quite as over-the-top as Saul, but at least give something for the viewers (and the characters, for that matter) to hold onto, eh? Or at least give some work to actors who can't be pegged as being either psychopaths or secret psychopaths from the moment they appear on screen. There must be some sort of union rules against that.
