Westworld: 10 Biggest Twists - Ranked Worst To Best

9. Charlotte Is The Board Exec

Westworld Bernard
HBO

Episode: 6 - The Adversary

Shock Factor: 1/5 bullets

Charlotte Hale being the corporate bigwig wasn't so much a shock, more comic relief. A slimy Lee Sizemore urinating on that expensive CGI map of the park isn't a great way to make a good first impression to the Board Director. With news that Tessa Thompson was joining the cast, audiences were waiting for who she would play, not when she would turn up. It was pretty obvious that her emergence in Episode 6 wouldn't just be as a spirit-slugging guest lounging by the pool.

Perhaps the least developed of all the characters, Thompson didn't really get a chance to do anything as Charlotte this season other than be more robotic than the hosts - perhaps it could be blamed on her late arrival. Thankfully she didn't also turn out to be a robot, and at least Thompson added some much-needed human to the robo-park. Had Charlotte been a more interesting character, then perhaps her reveal in Episode 6 would have been worth it. However, as it looks like Charlotte escaped from Dolores's bloodbath, look out for her to redeem herself in Season 2.
