One of the "big three" twists form the finale, Dolores's reveal as bad ol' Wyatt was hard to stomach given Evan Rachel Wood's sweeter than pie exterior. Like the MIB reveal, the show had set up "Dolores is Wyatt" for a few weeks. Given that she wasn't in control, it was a more logical twist than the William one. Everything finally slotted into place with the buried town, Teddy's devoted loyalty to Dolores, and Dolores' flashbacks.
"Real" Arnold conveniently slipped into the role of The General, then had his own creation be the one to take him out. It was a tragic end/beginning for Dolores, and the whole story is mirrored with Ford's demise in the finale's closing scene. Ah, the circle of life. Whether Dolores stays in Wyatt mode remains to be seen, but it is safe to assume she won't go back to her life as a quiet farm girl in Season 2.
