Season 2 of Westworld took us to ShogunWorld and The Raj, with a number of parks still yet to be revealed. While they will no doubt play a part in the show's future, the setting of Season 3 - whenever it arrives - is going to be drastically different.

For Dolores and Bernard, at the very least, the show is heading to the real world. This is a huge change for the show, not least because it'll really have to show us what the world outside of the park is like.

On top of that, though, it needs to balance its Western setting, which is a core part of the series, with exploring the real world, and it's also going to be placing the hosts out of their confinement, showing how far they can go and what they can do outside of an environment that's built for them. If this year has been about agency, then Season 3 could well be about them taking full control for themselves and wanting to cement the new world as their own, and exploring what it really means to be free.
