What If...? - 25 Biggest WTF Moments
3. Infinite Killmonger
There were some strange choices from the Watcher when it came to selecting those who he deemed worthy of a place with the Guardians of the Multiverse. Surely there were better versions of Thor he could have picked, or better yet, why not pick someone like the Guardians of the Galaxy or the Avengers? An established team that knew each other better than these strangers?
One of the weirdest choices was Erik Killmonger. He showed from his brief time working with Stark Industries that he was no hero. He was a villain that would do anything he could to gain power in Wakanda, and he achieved his goal.
No one trusted him when the Watcher brought him in, and the reasons for his inclusion weren’t exactly clear. He ultimately offered nothing to the team, other than trying to take the stones for himself after they were removed from Ultron’s body.
There have only ever been a handful of characters who have held a full set of the Infinity Stones in the MCU. Killmonger would have used them to restore his and his teammates' worlds, and send them where they wanted to go, but surely there would have come a time when the temptation of that power would have been too much for him to resist.
