What Marvel's The Defenders Cast Look Like In The Comics

Malcolm Powder was a fairly nondescript high school student and huge fan of superhero/private investigator Jessica Jones. Admiring her more down-to-earth methods, as opposed to those of an archetypal superhero, he relentlessly pestered Jessica to allow him to work for Alias Investigations. She eventually relented, giving him a part-time job as her assistant.

In The Show

Malcolm Ducasse, who is loosely based on Powder (but now has a more distinct look), was forced into heroin addiction by Kilgrave, eventually kicking the drug with Jessica's help and aiding her crusade against the villain.

In The Defenders, it becomes clear that he is content with simply letting himself in and becoming Jessica's pseudo-sidekick, just as Malcolm Powder did. Though this time, it seems to be his way of showing his gratitude, as well as strengthening his relationship with the emotionally-distant Jessica.
