What The American Dad Voice Actors Look Like In Real Life

If American Dad seems to have an authentic sense of family connection, it may be because some of the cast are actually related to each other. Hayley Smith is voiced by Seth Macfarlane's very own sister Rachael Macfarlane. Granted, their roles within the show are very different to real life - going from siblings to father and daughter.

That said, there is a noticeable chemistry between the two characters in how their dialogue exchanges play out. Outside of American Dad, Rachael has done a lot of voice work, going as far back as the 1990s series Johnny Bravo. Naturally, being a close relative to Seth, she has attributed to a number of his projects, including Family Guy and Seth Macfarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. In addition to voice acting, she is also a singer, writer and a production manager. The talent never ends in the Macfarlane family, does it?

Her character as Hayley is written as the extreme opposite of her father Stan. As an ultra liberal and casual user of marijuana, she often expresses her head-strong views through protest and standing up for what's right.

But in spite of seeming nothing like her father, there are actually a few similarities between them, particularly in how they both stand up for what they believe in as well as try their best to defend their family, underneath the tough exteriors.
