Stephanie Beatriz played BoJack’s co star in Season Five’s Philbert, which culminated in a drugged out BoJack confusing real life with his TV show and choking her for real. She returned for a single episode in Season Six too, demonstrating how BoJack’s assault has shattered her confidence and derailed her career.
Gina is a bit of an under the radar character, holding Philbert together and offering BoJack a short fling. It’s not until the ending when you realise this fade into the background was deliberate from the writers, highlighting her journeywoman career.
Beatriz is definitely best known from Brooklyn 99, where she never fades into the background as the kick ass Rosa Diaz. She’s also got a little bit of cartoon experience away from BoJack too, playing Chloe in Bob’s Burgers and General Mayhem in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.
Right now, it’s about 50/50 on whether she’s back for the final half season.
