What The South Park Voice Actors Look Like In Real Life

Voices: Token Black.

One of the few people on this list to have never been enlisted as a voice actor before South Park, Adrien Beard is actually one of the show's producers and has found himself forerunning into a whole new skillset. The reason as to why Beard voices the sardonically named "Token Black" may be quite fitting, considering why the character exists in the first place.

Beard supplies the voice of Token, who at the time of his inception was one of only two established black characters in the franchise and his name exudes genuine importance.

Token refers to the practice of tokenism, which essentially entails using a character as a tokenistic gesture (in this case and many others, it happens to be a character of African-American descent) to try and gain viewership or fans. The Black part of his name, well we needn't go into that small detail. That's a conversation for a different day.

Parallel to Token Black's situation however, Adrien Beard was something of a real-life reflection, as he was the only black male working on South Park at the time (outside of Isaac Hayes, who would only accommodate for one character). Because of this, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, being the connoisseurs of attention to detail that they are, decided that to create a really authentic-feeling character, who better than a real man of ethnicity to play a fictionalised one!?
