The original Kiwi vampire trio from the movie cross over with their TV counterparts in this star-studded episode in which the Staten Island vampires are put on trial for the death of The Baron (something that they can't even remember).

Of course, the audience know that Guillermo did it (accidentally) at the end of the previous episode, kicking off his story as a naturally gifted vampire hunter. But there's fun to be had in the vampires being genuinely unsure if they're guilty of the charges or not.

Laszlo, for his part, was very much guilty of the previous charges for which he was brought before the Vampiric Council (turning a child into a vampire on a bored whim), proving that while he may be innocent of this specific crime, he still has a lot to answer for.

This is not what makes The Trial a fan favourite episode, though. What really delights the horror movie geek in all of us is its feast of vampire cameos. It's not just the likes of Viago, Vladimir and Deacon from the original movie, the Council is also headed up by screen legend and Only Lovers Left Alive star Tilda Swinton. There's also Wesley Snipes (Blade), Evan Rachel Wood (True Blood) and Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn) along with a drawn out joke about the unavailability of true A-listers Pitt and Pattinson.
