1. More Of Everything We Love
Okay, so we have the potential for comedy still in place, some guaranteed scheming, and the groundwork for heartwrenching personal dramas and tough choices. But that does still leave something out of the recipe for a standard White Collar episode: the crime of the week. Thankfully, we still have Jones, Diana, and the rest of unit to check in on to get our crime mystery fix until Peter is home free. And for the romantics among us Collars, if the anticipation of the Burkes' reunion is not enough, we know Neal will find someone in his life this season. In all, season five seems to promise a whole lot more of the same, relying on what works. For some shows, for many shows, this might seem like things were getting stale, but this combination of a long background plot about Neal's growth as a person and growth in his relationships, combined with clever, albeit largely interchangeable, episode plots featuring new crimes and other characters works for White Collar. So Jeff Eastin and crew, please keep doing what you do. It is a winning formula wholly deserving of this year and hopefully many more to come. Any Collars out there in WhatCulture's readership?
