Why Mr. Robot Just Got Cancelled
1. The Next Chapter
With great success comes great responsibility.
Mr. Robot can be credited for both astounding breakout and comeback performances. It helped Rami Malek become recognizable, and brought him his first taste of success come award season. And thanks to his success in Mr. Robot, Rami took on the role as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the highly anticipated upcoming film Bohemian Rhapsody.
On the other side, it helped the world get reacquainted with Christian Slater. Slater has never stopped acting since his glory days back in the late 80s and 90s, but he disappeared from a lot of people's radars. Mr. Robot brought him back into the limelight and showed he still has what it takes, while also netting him some gold alongside Rami.
Last, but not least, is Sam Esmail, who - prior to Mr. Robot - only really had one film under his belt. Now he has the clout of creating and directing Mr. Robot and is going on to direct and produce Homecoming, an upcoming thriller set for Amazon Video starring Julia Roberts. He also has another USA Network show in the works starring Rosario Dawson called Briarpatch.
All this success didn't make making Mr. Robot difficult, but it makes it easier to move on for those involved. It's a show that both critics and fans loved, and will talk about for years. The end of Mr. Robot is about one main thing, respect. Respect for the fans and respect for the characters and stories that were crafted.
