Why The Walking Dead Is Ending

1. Rick Grimes' Story Is The Real End Of The Show

The most important spin-offs to Walking Dead fans, of course, will be the Rick Grimes movie trilogy that's currently in production. These movies will apparently finish off the character's story for good, and will also feature major players from across all the shows, though details have been guarded for now.

However, AMC could market these as being the "real" ending for the main Walking Dead series without having to compromise the stories of either the movies or the show as they attempt to co-exist. The Walking Dead ending could drum up hype for the movies, and allow characters to appear in those without needing to worry about their stories on the show being effected, changed or undermined.

This would also allow them to adapt the actual ending of the comics as well, which heavily features Rick Grimes, and have the two properties compliment each other, rather than have them compete for the "true" ending.
