X-Men '97: 10 New Villains We Want To See
9. Stryfe
In X-Men: The Animated Series, the mutant heroes regularly teamed up with a time-traveler from the 30th century called Cable. Despite being a recurring ally to the X-Men, the show never acknowledged Cable was Cyclops' son.
This detail was probably ignored since his backstory was too convoluted. (He was the child of a clone of Jean Grey created by Mister Sinister, who was then sent a thousand years into the future when he was a newborn.)
However, the relationship between the two could be acknowledged if X-Men '97 inserts Cable's evil clone, Stryfe. When Apocalypse sensed the psychic power that Cable possessed as an infant, he created a duplicate of him, and raised him as his own minion. Because Stryfer was spoon-fed Apocalypse's rhetoric throughout his life, he has become his most devoted soldier, and will stop at nothing to kill Cable.
For Cable to find out how Stryfe came to be, he could discover he's the offspring of Cyclops. Because of Cykes' reserved demeanour and Cable's standoffish manner, it would be interesting to witness how the two react when learn they're family. (It would also blow Cyclops' mind to see his child is older than he is!)
