X-Men '97: 10 New Villains We Want To See
4. Miss Sinister
At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed during the X-Men '97 presentation that Mister Sinister is set to appear.
But in an attempt to update the character, it would be cool to see an alternative take on the maniacal geneticist.
In the comics, Sinister knew his schemes could end in failure, inspiring him to devise an elaborate fail-safe. Using his own DNA, Sinister created a series of clones, which would awaken the instant he died.
When Sinister was eventually killed, the only clone that was viable was a female, which took on the uncreative name... Miss Sinister. Even though she has the same mind as her male counterpart she sees the old Sinister as a separate entity, and perceives herself as his daughter.
So, if Sinister were to die in the new series, he could potentially return in a female incarnation. Not only would this put a new spin on the iconic supervillain, I’m sure the animators wouldn’t mind since Mister Sinister was the most difficult person to draw in the original cartoon. (Animating his cape in motion was an absolute nightmare!)
