X-Men '97: 10 New Villains We Want To See

Before the dark god, Cyttorak, was banished to the Crimsons Cosmos realm, he placed a portion of his power into an artefact called the Crimson Gem. Whoever reads the inscription on this gem will be rendered unstoppable. When Charles Xavier's half-brother, Cain Marko, stumbled upon this relic, he was transformed into the insuppressible villain, Juggernaut.

Because Juggers had a recurring appearance throughout the X-Men cartoon, it’s likely the dome-helmeted thug will return in X-Men '97. But to mix things up, it'd be interesting to see the X-Men confront Juggernaut's master. Although Cyttorak is imprisoned in his own reality, the X-Men and Juggernaut have ventured to this universe, and come face-to-face with the demonic deity in the comics on several occasions.

And because Cyttorak will turn anyone he deems worthy into a human juggernaut, we could see an X-Man take on the mantle for a change. (In the comics, the X-Men proved Cain Marko had abandoned Cyttorak, convincing the malevolent creature to turn Colossus into the new Juggernaut.)

Because X-Men: The Animated Series regularly adapted storylines directly from the comics, it’s possible we might see this arc inserted into X-Men '97.
