3. Where Do We Go From Here?
Considering the driving force of You - the relationship between Joe and Beck - has been deftly cut off, we're going to be given a nice fresh start somewhere else in Season 2 to move away from the events in Manhattan. That, and a nice fresh woman to stalk because Joe ain't Joe unless he's hunting down a wife through social media and poisoning their boyfriends.
Deadline have reported that the next season will take place in Hollywood, 'where dreams can be made or shattered'. Interestingly, Paco and his mother were shown to be moving to LA at the close of You's first run, meaning we'll likely get another story interwoven with the alcoholic Claudia and her protective and sweet, but misguided, son.
Showrunner Sera Gamble commented:
“Without giving away too much, Joe thinks he’s gone out there by himself [Laughs]... There’s an aspect of trying to outrun his past and also trying to stop and fix some things and seek some different things for his future.”
And with a bottle of his urine left in the Salinger household, a private investigator on the case, the murder of Ron in Paco's mind, as well as Candace's surprise return, there's plenty for Joe to be outrunning already.
