A large portion of this season has focused on the introduction of Prince Brion of Markovia, the mysterious Halo and New Genesis' Forager and, in case it wasn't obvious, that's because they are the titular characters: The Outsiders.

After Forager christened his partnership with Brion and Halo as his new "Hive", the trio decided that they'd prefer to stick together instead of joining a larger group of superheroes. Dick agreed with them and, as a result, this week he teamed up with Artemis and Conner in an attempt to train the new heroes.

As Brion, Halo and Forager tested their strengths and weaknesses in 'Evolution', we finally got to see the full extent of what they could do, both as indivduals and as a group. Brion showcased his geo-force abilities while Halo unleashed her light and Forager utilised his amazing velocity to roll around like a wrecking ball. Following that, they were allowed to choose their codenames and, in that moment, Geo Force, Halo (she opted for Violet as her real name) and, well, Forager were born.

The trio would then go on to play major roles in the next two episodes as they helped Nightwing track down Cheshire and battle bounty hunter Lobo, highlighting that, no matter what is going on around them, The Outsiders are always at the heart of this season's story.
