10 Times Feet Were Better Than Fists Inside Of The Octagon

1. Lando Vannata Vs. John Makdessi (UFC 206)

Everything, literally everything about this particularly insane KO stands as the definitive argument as to why feet are unquestionably better than fists.

Lando Vanetta was coming off the back of a soul-crushing loss to Tony Ferguson on the night of his UFC debut via D'Arce choke at UFC Fight Night 91. So, by all accounts, you'd have been expecting him to be lacking somewhat in the confidence department going forward.

Nope.

Walking down his opponent with an arrogant swagger at UFC 206, Vannata absorbed John Makdessi's few attempts at offence with ease before letting rip a spinning wheel kick which left the audience double-taking the action that just went down inside of the Octagon.

Vannata showed literally no signs of the impending attack and caught Makdessi, along with the entire UFC fanbase both inside and outside of the arena, off-guard.

It was a head kick of the purest form. Majestically executed, completely unexpected and undeniable exciting. It's moments like these which keep MMA fans coming back for more.

Punches aren't all bad, I must confess.

But, if you were to give your writer the option of watching someone getting knocked down a peg or two via right hook or seeing a star caught out by a sublime leg/foot kick, it's not even a contest.

Feet are better than fists, every time.
