10 Times Feet Were Better Than Fists Inside Of The Octagon

9. Anthony Pettis Vs. Joe Lauzon (UFC 144)

Just in case his recent exploits inside of the Octagon have fogged your memory, it's probably worth reminding yourself just how unbelievably brilliant Anthony Pettis can be when he's on his game.

I mean, there's a reason they call him 'Showtime', right?

The former UFC Lightweight Champion has made a career out of pulling off spectacular knockouts against a whole host of rivals in the cage.

He's tapped out adversaries in the past and even threw an audacious superman punch just a few months ago against Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson for a KO finish. Yet, one of his tools in particular stands head and shoulders above any other weapon in his arsenal.

His insane head kicks.

Now, we could dive into his brilliant back catalogue of WEC and GFS head kick finishes. Yet, the competitive standard inside of the Octagon is undoubtedly higher than in those other promotions, so we're going to focus on his outstanding high kick KO of Joe Lauzon at UFC 144.

There's little more left to offer to this entry that can't be understood from just watching the video attached, other than Pettis proved with this 1:21 head-killer that his feet posed more of a threat than any other pair of fists in the division at this point.

Lauzon did all he could to block it, but once 'Showtime' throws one of those signature fight-enders the result is rarely ever in doubt.
