10 Times Feet Were Better Than Fists Inside Of The Octagon

8. Edson Barboza Vs. Terry Etim (UFC 142)

15 minutes may not sound like an awfully long amount of time to the average joe. To a fighter inside of the Octagon, it can feel like a lifetime.

By the time you make it to halfway through the third and final round, you've been throwing bombs, trying to drag each other to the ground relentlessly for nearly a quarter of an hour - all whilst attempting to avoid either of those things happening to yourself.

So, by all rights, the last thing you'd expect to see from an exhausted contender - at this stage in the fight - would be an attempt at something as spectacular as a spinning back kick.

Clearly, Edson Barboza doesn't enjoy living up to expectations and took it upon himself to execute a kick so devastating, it makes you wonder why he ever bothered to use his fists again.

As Barboza and Terry Etim entered the closing stages of their UFC 142 showdown, you could see that the pair had already given a lot to the cause.

Yet Barboza continued to work Etim's body in the hope that he would leave his head open for one of his trademark lightning-fast leg kick finishes. Landing a one-two to Etim's body, followed by a stiff kick to the mid-section, Barboza backed up and invited Etim onto him before unleashing one of the most shocking spinning back kicks ever to be seen inside of the Octagon.

He may have had his undefeated streak ended just one fight later, but this unbelievable finish sits as a clear example of why feet were undoubtedly better than fists on this occasion.
