UFC: 5 MMA Power Couples Who Could Hold Titles Simultaneously
3. Mark And Montana De La Rosa
Mark and Montana De La Rosa are a pair of fighters that casual fans may not be familiar with. That being said, this young, married couple is definitely starting to make their presence felt in the UFC. At press time, both fighters are ranked in their respective divisions.
Montana De La Rosa is a 24-year-old former All-American high school wrestler, who is currently holding down the number eleven spot on the UFC's women's flyweight rankings. The grappling specialist is a former contestant on the Ultimate Fighter reality series who has gone 3-1 since signing with the UFC. She is one of the best grapplers in her division, and at 24, still has plenty of time to fill out the rest of her game and perhaps make a run at the title one day.
Mark De La Rosa is the fourteenth ranked flyweight in the UFC. He is a jiu-jitsu specialist who has been grappling since he was 12 and has also become a competent striker. The 25-year-old has had his ups and downs in the UFC thus far. After losing to former title challenger Tim Elliott, De La Rosa rattled off consecutive victories over Elias Garcia and Joby Sanchez. He would then go to lose his next two bouts to Alex Perez and Kai Kara-France respectively. Though he's in the midst of a two-fight losing streak, the 25-year-old is still has plenty of upside.
The De La Rosa both have a ways to go before earning a shot at the gold. However, the fact that their both ranked competitors who have yet to enter their fighting prime make them an interesting dark horse pick to hold titles simultaneously at some point down the road.
