The Star Wars sequel trilogy didn't turn out so great in the end, but it got off to a fantastic start with 2015's The Force Awakens, the blockbuster seventh film in the Skywalker Saga.

In among the Harrison Fords and the Carrie Fishers and the several other giant names this film attracted, you might be able to spot everyone's favourite Call of Duty-playing time-traveller, Ryan Sinclair.

Actor Tosin Cole has a minor role in The Force Awakens as Lieutenant Bastian, a fighter pilot for the Resistance who takes part in the raid on Starkiller Base (0:59 in the clip below). He must be a good pilot too, as he survives the battle and flies off into the sunset.

This appearance came three years before Cole appeared in Doctor Who, meaning he was part of the Star Wars franchise long before he joined the TARDIS team.
