1 Up & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 19)

2. Hmm

Best Friends AEW
AEW

This writer knows he'll catch some flak for shooting this one down, but he doesn't really care. Why? Well, there's just nothing awesome about 10-minute indy show specials in major promotions, and that's what Best Friends vs. Trustbusters was in this week's main event spot.

It didn't deserve to headline Rampage.

Some people might've enjoyed another six-man, but it felt off to this fan. He's still not convinced that AEW's product can sustain another set of titles either, especially when that means more psychology-light six-man tags on shows like Dynamite and Rampage. Can AEW give it a break with the multi-mans already?

Granted, the final few minutes of this one did pick the pace up, but it was too late. Exactly nobody outside Orange Cassidy comes across as a star in this group, and even he's struggling to remain relevant on a busy undercard.

Meh.
