1 Up & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 7)

Downs...

5. No Help From Rush (And No Explanation Why)

Claudio Castagnoli Private Party Swing
AEW

Seeing Claudio Castagnoli double swing both members of Private Party was fine - it was a fun spot in the opening six man, and a typically-stunning display of the ex-ROH Champ's strength. As the cameras panned to a wide shot though, something else became apparent.

Rush was just...standing there watching.

This could've been explained away as Rush teaching Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen a lesson for prior behaviour, but the announcers didn't even mention that. So, due to that complete lack of context, the heel looked rather silly and like he'd stopped selling far too early.

If AEW wants to put these minor story beats across as meaningful, then they need to make sure the commentators are aware of them. It's no use to have a hot-headed heel like Rush just chilling out on the apron as his tag partners get dizzy.
