1 Up & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 7)

4. A Little Disappointing

PAC Alex Reynolds

Surely, AEW's Trios Title matches should be akin to a caffeine-boosted version of WCW's old Cruiserweight division. They should be lightning fast to help set them apart from everything else on the product, at least. Sadly, a main event this fan was looking forward to was sloooooooooow.

Death Triangle and Dark Order moved through mud until the final few minutes, then quickly upped the gears for the final stretch. Suddenly, a bored announce team began hyping the match up as a classic, which felt forced. The same could be said for a now-overdone "This Is Awesome" chant that lasted for approx 10 seconds.

Hmm.

If this is the future of the Trios division, then count yours truly out. PAC, Rey Fenix and Penta are some squad, but they were clearly going through the motions here. Perhaps that's understandable due to PAC pulling double duty, in fairness.

Didn't make for a great watch though.
