1 Up & 6 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 26)

5. Rankings, Tony?!

Wardlow Ryan Nemeth
AEW

Giving Wardlow a squash match fine was fine. Fans welcomed the Ohio native home with open arms, and everyone revelled in the chance to watch him powerbomb the t*ts off some poor sap en route to another win. Giving Ryan Nemeth a TNT Title shot for no reason...wasn't fine.

What in the name of Dolph Ziggler was that all about?

Nemeth has never won a singles match on Dynamite, Rampage or AEW pay-per-view. He hasn't exactly been racking up victory after victory on YouTube shows like Dark either, so the question must be asked: Tony Khan, where the heck did you pull this championship clash from?

Wardlow's belt didn't need to be on the line here. If anything, this didn't even need to be a match. Ryan could've come out to rag on Cleveland before the TNT Champ emerged to shut him up and have a staredown with Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin and pals.
