4. Back-To-Back Squashes

The fact AEW booked back-to-back squashes says it all.

There was next-to-no difference between Wardlow hammering Nemeth and Powerhouse Hobbs smashing Ashton Day. So, this writer is left with no option but to question the smarts of booking two identikit squashes in subsequent segments on such a short program. What is this? Wrestling Challenge from 1991?

Wardlow and Hobbs even performed similar foot/knee on chest finishes right at the end of their respective triumphs too. This was really the best they could come up with for both guys on the show? To that point, who knows why All Elite feels the need to have QT Marshall and The Factory poke-nose their way into Hobbs' feud with Ricky Starks.

Perhaps that's a separate whine, but it's worth talking about. QT and chums smacking Ricky in the mouth with a gold watch as Powerhouse looks on pleased makes little sense. Shouldn't Hobbs, who believes he carried Starks for the longest time, be doing the smacking himself?
