10 "Shocking" WWE Moments Ruined By The Internet
4. Goldberg's Quick Win
There's actually a case to be made in defence of "predictable" booking. It goes something along the lines of: if the fans see it coming then it means your show is logical and consistent (albeit, you know, predictable).
That was pretty much what happened at Fastlane last year. Goldberg picking up the Universal Title from Kevin Owens en route to WrestleMania - where he would lose to a rejuvenated Brock Lesnar to cap off his year - made perfect sense.
But, once again, you saw the finish to this match coming a mile off, thanks in large part to the fact that online reports in the run-up to the event suggested that it was going to mirror the former WCW star's brief excursion at Survivor Series.
It might be said that this would have been predictable in any era - after all, at 50-years-old, Goldberg was never likely to go the distance - but those pesky spoilers, combined with good ol' internet detective work, removed all doubt.
