10 "Shocking" WWE Moments Ruined By The Internet
2. Edge Cashes In MITB
Even before the internet was a source of internet rumours, pre-taped shows were never entirely safe from the threat of their contents being revealed before going to air. Case in point: Tony Schiavone reading out Raw spoilers on Nitro.
But these days it's practically impossible to keep this sort of stuff under wraps, a good example being a rare World Heavyweight Championship switch on SmackDown back in May 2007, when Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on a beaten-up Undertaker.
Had this gone out live, it would have been one of the great shocking moments in the show's history. The cash-in was so brilliantly executed too, with The Deadman's title defence against Batista ending in a tie before Mark Henry returned to wreak havoc.
Sadly, however, we all knew exactly what was coming thanks to those in the stadium spilling the beans to their internet friends as soon as they got home (us at home could have avoided this, of course, but that's hardly likely).
