10 Absolute Worst Matches In WWE Survivor Series History
7. Men's 5-on-5 Elimination: Team Raw Vs. Team SmackDown (2017)
Conclusive proof, if ever it were needed, that Triple H does whatever the hell he wants in modern WWE, the Survivor Series 2017 main event was an exercise in self-fellatio.
A myriad of problems dragged this clusterf*ck down. It was populated primarily by ageing wrestle-dads, with Braun Strowman the youngest participant at 34. Fan favourites Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura were cast aside without mustering anything of note. John Cena, the company's old franchise player, played only a blink-and-you'll-miss-it role. Strowman spent 20 minutes selling one suplex.
But despite all this, 'The Game's' contributions were the worst. He betrayed teammate Kurt Angle to hand Shane McMahon his elimination, then kicked his brother-in-law in the nads, hit the Pedigree, and won the bout for Team Raw. Having played passenger for the closing stretches, a bewildered Braun beat Hunter down afterwards, ensuring that not only had Triple H set himself up for potential storylines with Angle and Shane, but also WWE's hottest up-and-coming main event commodity.
Only one of these threads ever came close to being tied up (when Triple H and Kurt starred on opposite sides of WrestleMania 34's excellent mix tag bout), so the point of this was... what, exactly?
