2. The Royal Family Vs. Clowns R' Us (1994)

This crapper was awarded a shoddy -**½ rating by Dave Meltzer when it happened. Retrospectively, it probably deserves to sit even lower on the negative side, so ineffective were its comedic stylings.

Jerry Lawler led his gang of little people (Sleazy, Queasy, and Cheesy) against Doink the Clown's (Wink, Pink, and Dink), with the rules stipulating that the two captains could only face off against each other, rather than their vertically-challenged partners. The problem was that the only two guys who could actually wrestle were knocked out first. Doink's disqualification meant 'King' had no choice but to drop out as well, leaving the Royal Family to run through the mini-Clowns one by one, prompting the losers to chase Lawler around ringside. The payoff? Their noble leader splattering the Memphis legend in the face with a custard pie.

This failed comedy bout delivered precisely one funny gag, as Dink mounted Doink's shoulders, ready for a chicken fight with one of Lawler's teammates, only for Jerry to get up on top of one of his goons instead. Aside from that, the match was emblematic of the time period's problems as a whole.
