Speaking of failed comedy matches, here's a bonafide contender for the worst in WWE history.

Doink the Clown, that cheeky rapscallion, had been badgering Bam Bam Bigelow throughout the autumn, throwing confetti on the big man and soaking his kayfabe girlfriend, Luna Vachon, with a pail of water. Several wrestlers performed the cult favourite gimmick at once, and with Bigelow stuck for allies, he was paired with the gluttonous Bastion Booger (one of the lamest characters this weird little sport has ever seen) and the Headshrinkers, who played generic Samoan savages.

So we got two of the worst in-ring tag teams of any WWE era teaming up against Bam Bam and a gang of ill-suited allies, in a bout featuring a literally banana peel slip, a confetti spot, food-based distractions for Booger, and the usual array of Bushwhackers bullsh*ttery. Literally none of it was funny.

To make matters worst for Bam Bam, the talented big man didn't even get to win this wretched affair, with all four Doinks pinning him after Mabel's big splash as the clock hit 11 minutes. It was comfortably his WWE career's darkest hour.
