10 Absolutely Incredible Wrestling Comparisons

2. Wrestlers Ageing Very Weirdly, Part 1

Hogan Balor Thumb
WWE

Earthquake - an underrated and agile Monster of the Week act, great presence and all-round top guy - was, incredibly, 27 years old when he locked horns with Hulk Hogan at SummerSlam 1990.

He sure didn't look it. He looked like he had gestated in the womb for at least 20 years and joined the WWF long after undergoing a midlife crisis. His look accentuated the art terrifically, it should be noted. His balding head, ruddy face, colossal frame and woodsman beard made him look quite the threat to Hulkamania.

But Christ almighty, 27?!

To underscore how wild that is, consider how old the following wrestlers are in 2022.

Darby Allin is 29, and he looks like he's still listening to MxPx in high school.

Anthony Bowens is 32, and he could easily pass for a college hunk in one of these American films.

Austin Gunn plays a hyperactive young brat, an ambitious second-generation upstart, and he's the exact same age.

Dominik Mysterio at 25 is only two years younger than Earthquake was at SummerSlam, and he looks so young that WWE book him like he's friggin' Nicholas.
