It's important to note that Dave Meltzer's star-rating system isn't gospel by any means.

But that still hasn't stopped talents from popping at the news of earning a rare five-star salute or fans from erupting at the sight of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter figure not rewarding a stellar contest with the big five or above.

Despite only being a promotion for just under four years, AEW currently boasts an astonishing 20 five-star or higher bouts according to Meltzer. Whilst WWE actually only possesses 18 in total.

What both companies currently and rather surprisingly have in common, however, is the fact neither have ever produced a five-star Meltzer-rated women's bout as of writing.

Sure, a few have come pretty darn close.

Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker's bloody 2021 St. Patrick's Day Slam "Lights Out" war on Dynamite, Charlotte Flair's Last Woman Standing battle with Becky Lynch at Evolution 2018, and Flair's ripper with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 all earned 4.75-star ratings.

Yet, none of said gripping contests were able to crack into this star-studded collection of all-time classics in Meltzer's mind.

That being said, it's surely only a matter of time before a WWE or AEW women's masterpiece makes the list.

The question is... who will do it first?
