10 Absurd Wrestling Gimmicks That Should Have BOMBED (But Didn't)
2. Seth Rollins (The Visionary)
It's difficult to land on precisely what element of the overall Visionary package really catapulted Seth Rollins back to the level of being someone who could quite realistically main event WrestleMania.
His constant cackling and often excruciating dialogue would result in most stars becoming yet another uninspired cog in the Monday Night Raw machine.
But the one-time Shield man has managed to take that often dreadful material and overwhelm it up with out-of-this-world attire, some of the finest in-ring performances of his career, and a piece of musical crowd participation that helps make him one of the most audibly popular performers on the planet on his day.
Stare too long at the utterly bizarre gimmick and it quickly becomes clear that there's not an awful lot more to this one than an inflated ego and some world class in-ring work.
But when taking in the weekly three-hour grind that is Raw, his regular injections of colour and enthusiasm can admittedly turn even the most painful edition into a worthwhile use of your time.
