WCW Power Slam - Roddy Piper

Piper Likeness: 3/10

Riley Likeness: 8/10

By virtue of the existence of an action figure to commemorate his WrestleMania VI paint job, which saw ‘Hot Rod’ dip his toe (and his remaining left side) into the taboo makeup area of blackface, this poor WCW effort will never be the worst plastic Piper. The face-scan came with jet black hair and heavily painted Nesquik-stain stubble.

The huge industrial set of bagpipes included with the figure feel like a begrudging acknowledgment that it far from captures one of the most charismatic stars to ever step foot in a wrestling ring.

While the bagpipes could at least add some flair to a better likeness, stripped of the kilt, the model cuts a figure closer to Alex Riley. The shagginess recalls the Miz’s former prodigy during his brief NXT run. With the set facial expression you can almost hear him screaming “Say it to my face”, his catchphrase that never quite caught on.

Despite his best efforts Riley failed to reinvent himself in Full Sail, understandable considering the wealth of talent signed to the black and gold brand in 2015.
