10 AEW Originals Who Are Struggling In 2022
4. Private Party
Private Party must be the hottest tag team in all of wrestling. That can be the only explanation why Matt Hardy and Andrade have been feuding for the team’s soul/services for what feels like decades at this point.
The feud hasn’t just dragged on. It’s also been so dull, limp and repetitive, managing to rob the pair of their own agency as other people vie for their contracts. As a result, it’s proven hard for viewers at home and fans in the arena to feel the same passion for Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy as their would-be managers and mentors.
An early win over The Young Bucks promised big things for the tag team, and they seemed like breakout stars on AEW’s early pre-Dynamite PPVs, but years later they remain also-rans in AEW’s tag division. The Acclaimed have passed them by, as well as heavy-hitting WWE imports FTR and Swerve In Our Glory.
They’re still young and it’s not too late for Quen and Kassidy to turn things around - but where once their success felt assured, now they have an uphill battle.
